Makisig Morales getting through the "awkward stage"

Nagbibinata na ang child star na si Makisig Morales. Parang kailan lang na nag-umpisa ito sa Little Big Star noong eight years old pa lang siya. Ngayon ay dose anyos na siya at bigla nga siyang tumangkad.



"Nagpa-circumcise na po kasi ako last year, kaya ako mabilis na lumaki!" natatawang sabi ni Makisig sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal). "Three days lang po akong nagpahinga sa bahay. Hindi naman po ako natakot. Nagsabay kami ng isa kong kapatid. Nauna na ako para mabawasan yung takot niya.



"Ang feeling ko lang, parang tumangkad po ako. Pag kumakanta ako ng matataas, medyo nagka-crack na [ang boses ko]. Hindi na katulad ng dati. Nagbago talaga. Nagbo-voice lessons nga po uli ako para mahasa yung bagong quality ng boses ko.



"Sa girls, nagkakainteres din po ako, siyempre. Pero mas nagko-concentrate kasi ako sa pag-aaral. Wala pa talagang dumarating na para sabihing puwede kong ligawan."



Nasa first year high school na si Makisig at kasalukuyang naka-enroll sa Lacoleta Academy, San Mateo, Rizal.



Nakusap ng PEP si Makisig sa presscon na ibinigay ng Star Magic para sa kanilang artists kagabi, December 9.



CHARICE & RHAP. May mga nakakapunang tila nakalimutan na ni Makisig ang pagkanta. Sabi naman ng child actor, sa bahay ay lagi naman siyang nagpa-practice.



"Kung wala po akong ginagawa, pakanta-kanta kami ng mga kapatid ko," aniya. "May raket pa rin pong dumarating na kailangang kumanta, nagagamit ko pa rin."



Hindi ba siya naiinggit sa mga kapwa niya Little Big Star graduates na sina Charice Pempengco at Rhap Salazar na talagang bongga na ang mga singing career at nakikilala na sa international scene?



"Natutuwa naman po ako sa kanila. Ako naman po, nagpupunta rin ako sa U.S. para mag-perform. Minsan, kasama ko si Ate Sheryn [Regis]. Okey lang po. Masaya rin po ako para sa kanila," sabi ni Makisig.



Naungusan na raw siya nina Charice at Rhap dahil ang mga ito'y nakapag-guest na sa shows nina Ellen DeGeneres at Oprah Winfrey.



"Okey lang po yun," nakangiting sabi ni Makisig. "Sabi ko nga po, natutuwa ako sa kanila. Kung may ganun din pong magandang opportunity rin sa akin, sana dumating po. Kung wala naman, magpapatuloy pa rin po ako sa pagkanta. Sa Star Records, nakapag-record na po ako noon kasama ang isang grupo, then as part of a Christmas album. Wala pa akong solo album talaga."



AWKWARD STAGE. Naniniwala si Makisig na unti-unti niyang malalampasan ang awkward stage. Gusto raw talagang palakihin pa ng ABS-CBN si Makisig para sa pagpapatuloy ng Super Inggo.


"Kapag bumalik ako, yung medyo binata na po. Sa ngayon po kasi, nagda-dubbing ako para sa Super Inggo [anime], at bata pa rin ang projection ng boses ko doon. Tatapusin muna nila yung animation, 'tapos lalabas na po ako, binata na. Yun po ang plano. Baka 2010 o 2011 mangyari yun," aniya.



Kasama si Makisig sa bagong teleseryeng bubuksan ng ABS-CBN, ang Mahal Na Mahal Kita na tatampukan nina Roxanne Guinoo at Sid Lucero.



"Tapos na po ako sa taping, kasi mas nauna yung mga eksena ko. Ako yung gaganap na young Sid Lucero. May kapareha ako doon, yung bata rin, si Ella Cruz. Si Chito Roño po ang direktor namin. First time kong maidirek ni Direk Chito sa TV. Sa pelikula, siya ang nagdirek ng Caregiver. Sa 2010 pa raw maipapalabas ang series," sabi ni Makisig.

Makisig Morales: ‘Super bait po pala talaga ni Zaijian’

Super Inggo star Makisig Morales makes a comeback on Primetime TV as he guests on the top-rating show, May Bukas Pa. He was very excited when the role was first offered to him, knowing that he would be working with May Bukas Pa star Zaijian Jaranilla. “Unang-una po, masaya po ako para kay Zaijian, kasi nabigyan po siya ng magandang break. Tsaka po nagpapasalamat ako at masaya din po ako kasi alam ko pong magiging magkaibigan po kami ni Zaijian, idol ko na rin siya kasi idol po siya ng mga kapatid ko eh. Gabi-gabi po namin siya pinapanood.”

True enough, in the short time that they worked together, Makisig said that they have become good friends. “Madalas po kami nagkukulitan sa set. Nung unang taping pa lang po namin, super magkaibigan na po kami. Madali po siya kaibiganin, super bait po pala talaga niya.” He also shared that his favorite scene was the rain scene, where he and Zaijian really had a lot of fun.

Makisig will play Jepoy, the brother of Father Patrick (Ruben Gonzaga), who sacrifices his childhood to earn a living for his family. He shared that his role is a lot different from his previous role in Super Inggo. “Ang kaibahan po kasi dun po sa Super Inggo, eh si Budong ay isang superhero, dito po siya ay natural na tao na naghihirap pero nagsisikap. Hindi po siya makapaglaro kasi sobrang dami po ng ginagawa niya, kung hindi po siya magtatrabaho, wala po silang kakainin,” Makisig shared.

“Pagsisikap at pagmamahal sa pamilya at mga kapatid,” is what Makisig said he learned from the story and from his role. He added that like his role as Jepoy, he has lot of dreams for his family and always prays for their good life together.

“Ibang-iba talaga sa Super Inggo. Dapat panuorin nila ito kasi magaganda yung mga eksena, maraming twists, kaya dapat abangan,” Makisig said. “Congratulations sa May Bukas Pa at kay Zaijian sana magkasama pa tayo sa ibang shows.”
